For the third consecutive year, Fresnillo plc was awarded the 'Ethics and Values in the Industry' Award, from the Conderation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN).

The award recognises best business practices and the corporate values of the company.  



For the 2011 edition of this recognition, the CONCAMIN focused the distinction in recognising the Value Chain; i.e. Social responsibility activities transcend and expand their beneficial impact on the community as it has been achieved by Fresnillo plc, which is committed to sustainability being a core element of business philiosophy, strategy and operations. 

This distinction represents recognition of Fresnillo plc, to promote a culture of ethics and values in business from its commitment to best practices in the social field, which translates into increased competitiveness and to benefit society.

It is noteworthy that all business units of Fresnillo plc are ISO 14001 and Clean Industry Certified, Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA). It also has the hallmark of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI). 

In May 2011, the Herradura mine received the International Cyanide Code certification issued by The International Cyanide Management Institute to confirm the safe and responsilbe management of cyanide used in its operation.

Also in 2011, Fresnillo plc created its own Center for Technical Studies of Fresnillo (CETEF) as part of its ongoing commitment to promote the training and education excellence of students in Earth Science and those who work in the operation of the mining industry.

The CETEF, located on the unit Minera Fresnillo in Zacatecas, is part of the sustainability policy of the company that is managed through its Health, Safety, Environment and Community Relations.

Fresnillo collaborates with leading universities to provide technological equipment that benefits the optimal training of future professionals.
