1992 - Construction of Ciénega commenced.
1995 - The first full year of production, when approximately 300,000 tonnes of ore was produced. This represented the plant's capacity until expansion of Ciénega's operations.
1998 - Expansion of Ciénega's operations. Taking production rates to approximately 514,000 tonnes of ore per year.
2005 - A second expansion project increased production rates further to approximately 673,000 tonnes of ore per year.
